Hokodo, Completing your online verification

To access Hokodo payment terms, Hokodo might have to ask you to complete an online verification. Don’t worry, we’ve partnered with Hokodo and Veriff to make online verification as quick, easy and safe as possible so you can get back to doing the important stuff.

Here’s our top tips for a successful online verification.

1. Get your ID ready

Your passport, ID card, or driver's licence will work. Check your ID has not expired or physically damaged.

2. Use a good camera with a decent internet connection

The camera on your smartphone or mobile device should be good enough for your verification. If your laptop has a decent webcam, that can work as well. If possible, use one of the recommended browsers for your device:

  • PC: Chrome or Firefox

  • Mac: Safari or Chrome

  • iPhones and iPads: Safari

  • Android devices: Chrome

You might be asked to give temporary access to your camera and microphone to complete a verification, but this only lasts during the verification process and not beyond.

3. Keep an eye on the clock

You'll have five minutes to show your ID before the session closes, so we recommend having it to hand before starting your verification. The time limit is there for your security, not to stress you out.

4. Check your lighting

A dark room or strong background light results in a poor quality photo that is tough to verify. Please also remove glasses, headphones, and any other headgear that makes it harder to identify you.

5. Complete the verification on your own

It’s time for your close up – and yours alone. We only need to see your face, so make sure no one else is in the shot.

6. Take readable photos

Keep an eye on the screen and make sure the entire identity document fits in the markers. If the photo you take is blurry or poorly lit, click “Try again” to take a better one.

7. Both sides please

If you're using an ID card, driver's licence, or residence permit to verify your identity, you’ll be asked to photograph both sides of the document.

8. Using a passport?

Alternatively, take a picture of your passport photo page. It's the page with your picture, personal details, and other data.

9. You and your ID

You might be asked to take a selfie with your ID document in the same frame. Make sure you and your document are both in frame, in focus, and readable. Please make sure your ID doesn't cover your face!

And there we have it. Nine simple tips for a quick, easy and secure verification. You’ll be checking out with Hokodo payment terms in no time at all. And don’t worry about remembering all this – you’ll get real-time feedback on your photo throughout the process.
